Yesterday between the hours of 7 and 11pm I saw Rival Sons, The Pretty Wreckless and Evanescence in Oakland at the Fox Theater. No joke, I was one foot away from the speaker and 3 from the stage....4 from Amy in total
Rival Sons: Not a bad band, just not really a rock band, its more like Ted Nugett, (i think thats how you spell it....0.o) anyway, they were okay...more oakie than anything...
The Pretty Wreckless: A much better opening band and very good live as well as studio...Taylor...well, lets just say she gave us more than a strip tease in a pair of short spanks, and a spandex/pleather minidress and practically pole-dancing on the mic stand...better to listen to with your eyes closed in the case of that perfromance, that and the fact she's barely 18 shocked most of the audience. They, by a happy mistake, (name that line...) forgot their song list and did a cover of Audioslave's "Like a Stone" and it was a very good cover at that
Overall, they should have been the only opener.
Evanescence: Practically comming out on stage to watch their openers, they teased and tortured the crowed and even a few had to get thrown out because they were being rowdy...but by 9:00 the lights had dimmed and Will had just sat behind the drum set. They opened with What You Want and ended with My Immortal. They played a mixture of both the old and the new, as far as the what was new they played about 6 or 7 songs and then about another 6-7 songs from the previous two albums, including Lithium, Going Under, Bring Me to Life, Call Me When Your Sober and Your Star. Me being so close to the stage, I got a wave and a smile form Amy (I sent her a picture on twitter of me standing outside in the rain wearing a homemade Evanescence shirt...I know I'm a dork XP) and that about made my night, as well as seeing Tim walk by and give me a hug... (don't know, don't care)
I WILL upload the photos to DA but idk how well they are since they didn't allow cameras and there was no flash....I took them with my Blackberry on action, so its a little grainy, but who cares. I cant stop listening to their new CD. I'm stuck between "My Heart is Broken", "Sick" and "The Secret Door" to be honest. After their touring is all said and done in the comming years, I feel they will go back into the studio for another album. My only questions now are, "Whats going to be on it?" and "Who's going to hate me for almost getting back stage?".......(It didnt happen because some chick started something with me and the head of security thought i started it....damn that bitch.....) -_________-
